Malaga Airport is located 8 kilometres from the capital of the Costa del Sol. There are two ways to get there by road from the city of Malaga to the East or from Gibraltar, Algeciras or Cadiz to the West:
- One via the Malaga ring road MA-21, which can also be accessed from the city centre via the Avenida de Andalucía and from the Avenida de Velázquez. The airport has direct access from this road.
- Also from the MA-21 motorway we can continue along the MA-22 motorway which leads to the new coastal access to the MA-23 which leads to the new Terminal 3 departures and arrivals terminal just to the left of the new runway for aircraft take-off and landing.
The A7 motorway as well as the other MA-21, MA-22 and MA-23 both towards Malaga and west towards Cadiz, Gibraltar and Algeciras, connect all the towns and cities of the Costa del Sol such as Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Marbella, Fuengirola, Puerto Banus, San Pedro de Alcántara, Mijas Costa and Estepona.
